Principal

Duties

The duties and responsibilities of the Principal are outlined in the job description for the Principal. Which include:

• Provide evaluation professional expectations and complete assigned evaluations in a satisfactory and timely manner.
• Manage the daily schedules, absences, and organization of Oak Grove School teachers and support staff.
• Complete daily and long-term substitute acquisition for staff absences, with all time-off transactions documented.
• Responsible for annual student handbook enforcement and multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) program at OGS.
• Collaborate and coordinate special education student needs with SEAPCO Administrator and Superintendent.
• Create, maintain, and manage 504 plans within Oak Grove School, providing communication and documentation.
• Create, edit, and adjust the school master schedule for Oak Grove School including class and activity schedules.
• Responsible for coaching handbook and coordination / supervision of all extra-curricular and IESA athletic programs.
• Establish and maintain effective communication at all times with school personnel, students, and parents.
• Plan and coordinate meetings that foster the development of students, staff, administration, and parental growth.
• Create and disseminate weekly staff communication as well as monthly parental and Board communications
• Work as a supportive and collaborative member of the Oak Grove administrative team.
• Supervise evening, weekend activities, and meetings outside regular work hours related to school events.
• Upholds and enforces all district handbooks, administrative procedures, and Board of Education policies.
• Provide oversight during the Superintendent’s absence from the District, as may be delegated by the Superintendent.
• Other duties or responsibilities as may be reasonably and lawfully assigned in accordance with the negotiated agreement, School Code of Illinois, or Board policy.

 

Qualifications

Master's Degree (Educational Leadership or Equivalent) Valid and Current Professional Educators License, Principal Endorsement, Completed Teacher Evaluation Designations / Retraining Completed if applicable, Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, 2 years of administrative experience (recommended)

Salary/Benefits

Salary and benefits for the selected individual shall be regionally competitive and determined by the Board.
