Duties
Attendance specialist will provide prevention/intervention services for schools in Grundy and/or Kendall County. The Attendance Specialist will: accept referrals from assigned school district based upon specified criteria, conduct an educational history, conduct student and/or parent conference, develop a student action plan, seek cooperation from school district and/or community service agencies on behalf of the child, monitor student attendance, grades and behavior, conduct home visits when necessary, contact student, family, school and/or community service agencies periodically to insure that designated services remain effective, conduct necessary follow up meetings, complete and submit progress and end-of-year evaluation reports, attend staff meetings, and attend approved staff development activities. The Attendance Specialists will participate in professional development including but not limited to attendance/truancy issues, curriculum, staff development, etc.
Qualifications
Caseworkers will hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. Preference will go to those individuals who have casework/counseling experience in a related field and/or are certified to teach in Illinois.
