Duties

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Developing objectives and timelines that are appropriate to the student’s needs as indicated in their IEP
  2. Planning and implementing engaging instruction that is aligned with the curriculum, but modified to meet the needs and abilities of each student
  3. Monitors student progress and communicates regularly with parents, staff, and administrators
  4. Collaborates with other classroom teachers and related service providers in the development and implementation of best practices, thus ensuring that the student’s needs are met in all school settings

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

        
  1. Bachelors Degree in the field of Education.
    2.     
  2. PEL with the proper endorsement for ELL
    3.     
  3. An understanding of teaching and the duties of a teacher as an educational leader.
    4.     
  4. Eligibility to hold a valid Instructional certificate as issued by the Illinois Department of Education.
    5.     
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with various groups of people in an educational environment.
    6.     
  6. Ability to use initiative and innovation in planning and implementing programs and procedures.
    7.     
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find acceptable and reasonable.
