Duties

  • Plans and implements a program of study utilizing best practice instructional methods and relevant materials that are most appropriate for improving student learning.
  • Demonstrates professional behaviors with colleagues, students, parents, and guests.
  • Creates a classroom and school environment that is conducive to rigorous learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety and well being of students under his/her direct supervision.
  • Evaluates students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Recognizes student accomplishments with nominations for internal and external awards and scholarships
  • Maintains and submits reports and records as required.
  • Communicates with students and their parents, on a regular basis, including communication on FACTS and electronic correspondence.
  • Assists the administration in implementing policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct.
  • Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Implements individualized learning plans to personalize instruction and student successes.
  • Maintains and improves professional competencies that will enhance the teaching and learning processes.
  • Attends meetings and serves on committees to improve school operations.
  • Follows the guidelines in the Keith School Faculty and Staff Handbook.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the administration.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS:

1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills allowing for success in a team environment.

2. Willingness to embrace and adhere to Keith School’s mission, values and standards.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum of three years teaching experience and/or equivalent work experience.

2. Advanced degrees related to the area of instruction.
