Duties
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides evaluations and therapeutic intervention for students exhibiting speech and/or language impairments and collaborates with parents and public school personnel regarding incoming, progress of, and/or returning students. They are typically involved in activities such as prevention, identification, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of communication disorders. These services can be provided to students individually or in small groups. The goal of the speech-language pathologist is to provide individualized services for children whose speech and/or language skills interfere with his/her ability to learn in the classroom or communicate with others.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (preferred/available); Certified Speech and Language Therapist with Illinois State Board of Education or Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist. This position is primarily for students in grades Pre-K-8 and is shared between New Hope CCSD #6 and Jasper CCSD #17.
Salary/Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary per contract salary schedule.
Additional Notes
The Speech-Language Pathologist is expected to attend IEP meetings as needed and to present goals and updates as requested for students. The Speech-Language Pathologist position is part of the IEP team for students requiring Speech and/or Language services. Therefore, the ability to collaborate and communicate is vital.
