Duties
Self-contained low-incident program that provides students with intensive, individual skill development in the areas of academics and communication. These students have the capacity to learn at a modified level but may require very intensive and specialized curriculum and opportunities for repetition. This program is modeled after the STAR program. Our STAR program serves students with significant communication, behavioral, and academic needs. This program is composed primarily of students with a diagnosis of Autism or students with significant communication and/or behavioral disorders and uses the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) instructional methods of discrete trial training, pivotal response training and teaching functional routines as the primary instructional base. This program is seeking a special education teacher that specializes in collaborative experiences working with Autism technical specialists, related service personnel, and paraprofessionals on behalf of students with Autism.
