Duties
The Bilingual or ELL Teacher provides direct classroom instruction to Bilingual students, collaborates with teachers, and provides guidance to bilingual teaching assistants.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Acts as an English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher
- Engages teachers in intensive ELL instruction
- Promotes a school-based professional community; serving as a resource to classroom teachers with ELL students
- Possesses the ability to plan, implement and evaluate standards-based instructional programs and lessons.
- Promotes a positive and collaborative culture within the school
- Collaborates with staff, administration, district, and lead partner on the implementation of the Illinois Learning Standards (ILS)
- Demonstrates knowledge of pedagogy, and school improvement planning, and knows how to collect and utilize data to drive instruction.
- Follows all expectations required of teachers according to the RIEA Contract Agreement and RIMSD Board Policies
Qualifications
Must be in possession of PEL (Professional Educator License) and EL/Bilingual endorsement issued by the state of Illinois.
