Middle School Language Arts Teacher

Duties

Qualified candidate will be responsible for teaching content and skills in  language, literature, composition, and reading to middle school students in grades 5th-8th grade. 

Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials to align with Common Core Curriculum Content Standards for middle school students. Providing individualized and small group instruction when needed to support and meet the needs of their students. 

Evaluates academic growth of students, administers assessments, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance as well as academic progress. 

Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.  

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Education License with endorsement in Jr. High Language Arts

Salary/Benefits

As per South Wilmington CCSD #74 teacher contract, starting salary is $38,000. We are a small rural school with small class sizes. We are not able to offer health insurance due to this. Teachers do receive a $3500 health stipend to use towards insurance.
