Duties
The Canopy Adult Day Services Coordinator’s key responsibilities are to lead participant-centered teams to optimize participant engagement and growth. As the Canopy Adult Day Services Coordinator, he/she will serve as a floor supervisor, supervise Canopy Support Professionals, maintain the daily schedule, support the program in-take process, coordinate transportation services, facilitate cost-effective community services, and act as a contact for current families enrolled in the Canopy program.
This position is included in the overall daily floor ratio coverage at Canopy. This position will adjust starting and end-of-day locations between 2500 Cabot Drive, Lisle, and 264 S Main St, Sugar Grove, IL The Canopy Adult Day Services Coordinator position is considered a member of the Canopy leadership team and will assist in supporting the responsibilities and duties of the other members of the Canopy leadership team in the event of their absence.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
? Knowledge of autism and educational principles, methods, and techniques that support the
learning and growth of individuals with autism
? Strong organizational and communication skills
? Ability to use resources within a budget and collaborate with staff and administration in assessing
programming needs
? Ability to work with adults by utilizing a variety of different supports, including behavior plans,
visual supports, sensory techniques, communication supports, or program structure to ensure
participant success and demonstrate creativity in approaches used with participants
? Strong attention to detail – needed to ensure plans/processes are executed precisely
? Self-aware – open to constructive feedback from others and asks for help appropriately
? Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
? Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor’s Degree in special education, disability education, adult education, social work, or a
related field
? Master’s and/or licensure preferred as an LBS-1, MSW, or related field preferred
? Minimum 2 years experience in the field of disability services or autism instruction
? Valid driver’s license and current Illinois automobile insurance
