Duties
This position would service various elementary school within the district.
Position definition: Using considerable discretion and independent judgment, the individual in this position oversees the IEP team of education services professionals to deliver a wide range of education services to all employees working at the assigned levels in Community Unit School District 300. The individual in this position functions as a resource for administrators, focusing on the administrators and staff assigned to assigned levels of schools throughout the District and proactively partners to resolve various problems and issues facing the District. Additionally, the individual in this position oversees the delivery of instruction and identified programming based on individual student needs.
- Assist building level administration with staff hiring, evaluation and discipline of special education staff
- Attend and participate in variety of department and district level meetings and committee
- Implement and evaluate assistive technology needs for individual students and programs
- Consult and relay information to district staff and parents regarding reasonable accommodations and behavior management, strategies within the special education and general education settings
- Facilitate IEP meetings as needed at early childhood
- Plan, prepare and conduct professional development for certified and non-certified staff at the direction of the Chief of Education Services
- Complete required Special Education State reporting for early childhood
- Collect and analyze data for student achievement and program effectiveness
- Communication of important issues with the Directors and Assistant Superintendent
- Research and design solutions to various Education Service challenges confronting the District and staff
- Establish and maintain effective school, community and family partnership
- Other duties as assigned by Chief of Education Services
