Duties

Job Summary:
The teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans and delivering engaging, differentiated instructions for the sixth through eighth grade students that is aligned with the curriculum and the Common Core State Standards.  The teacher is responsible for integrating various forms of literature, technology, and the dramatic arts to develop reading comprehension, public speaking and interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and non-verbal language.  The teacher communicates with students’ parents or guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress.  The teacher is responsible for creating an environment of respect and rapport, and establishing a culture for learning in which safety and order is the norm.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid PEL with a middle school ELA endorsement;
  • Ability to assess the learning of students and modify or enhance instruction as needed;
  • Ability to analyze various forms of data and use the information to make instructional decisions;
  • Individual must be able to incorporate technology, various forms of literature and the dramatic arts in their daily instruction;
  • Able to work with a diverse population and establish open and regular communication with parents and guardians;
  • Strong classroom management skills and knowledge of PBIS;
  • Spanish speaking desirable. 

Salary/Benefits

Salary and Benefits:
