Responsibilities:

Duties:

Actively support the mission of the school and district.
Create and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Provide opportunities for all students to experience success, based upon their individual learning capacities.
Plan and implement lessons in accordance with the Illinois Learning Standards and English Language Proficiency Standards.
Implement and utilize student assessment data to guide instructional decisions.
Collaborate with all staff to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Serve as a second language consultant to school staff by maintaining a high knowledge base of the latest research, laws, most effective practices and issues in the field.
Participate in school improvement initiatives.
Inform parents and students of academic and behavioral progress, concerns, and long range expectations related to second language acquisition.
Serve as a bilingual liaison between ELL students, his/her family and the school, especially with respect to cultural and language differences, and providing cross cultural information to all parties that foster positive relationships.
Keep current with best practices and requirements as they relate to your job assignment.
Perform such other job related duties and assume such other professional responsibilities as your supervisor may from time to time assign or delegate.

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsement in English Language Learner teaching
Has demonstrated ability to teach and deal professionally and effectively with students as shown by student teaching record and evidence of successful teaching experience
Personal qualities necessary for development of an effective professional relationship with students, colleagues, administrative and supervisory staff and parents
Foreign language fluency preferred
Prior teaching experience in English Language Learner Programs preferred

Position is for the 2022-2023 School Year
