Duties

Are you looking for a teaching position in a diverse and inclusive district? Would you like to work with a phenomenal group of 4th and 5th grade students in one of our elementary schools? Then, our 4/5 Special Education Instructional teacher position at Heather Hill may be right for you!

To be a successful teacher in Flossmoor 161, you will create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, establish effective rapport with students, motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education according to each student's ability, and establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

Heather Hill is one of elementary schools in Flossmoor School District 161 with approximately 275 students. At first grade, you would be working on a team with one other fourth grade teacher that is ready to work with you to provide amazing learning experiences for our students!




Qualifications

To be qualified for the position, you will need a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Education and either have prior teaching experience in Special Education in the last ten (10) years or have taken coursework, seminars or workshops relevant to Special Education in the last two (2) years.  Additionally, a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a LBS 1 endorsement is required.
