Duties
Coordinate and manage all activity concerning the English as a Second Language program of the STAR Adult Literacy Program. Communicate with prospective and current ESL students via text, email and phone. Administer pre and post tests for ESL students and communicate scores to tutors and STAR staff. Manage paper student files and scan files electronically. Facilitate initial meetings at various community locations with tutors and students and prepare/disseminate curriculum materials on an as-needed basis. Teach/lead a once-monthly Saturday adult English as a Second Language (ESL) conversation class. The position is flexible and can work remotely as needed; however, reports to work at the Regional Office of Education #17 at least two half-days per week. Additionally, some evening and weekend hours are required. Bachelor's Degree required. While fluency is not required, an intermediate level Spanish speaking proficiency is desired. College degree required.
