Duties

DUTIES
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Chief School Business Official prepares the district budget, compiles financial information and creates reports in compliance with all State and Federal guidelines and grants.  Working knowledge and experience in the following areas of oversight:  Business Office Functions, Investments, Long Term Borrowing, Custodial and Maintenance Operations, Enrollment Forecasting, Facility Planning, Risk Management, Technology Financial Reporting (CAFR), Budgeting and Long Range Projections, Effective communication and Human Resource skills.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with Chief School Business Official Endorsement required
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years experience
  • Successful experience as a School Business Official, preferably in a K - 8 environment
  • Solid analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles required
  • Knowledge of school accounting preferred
  • Solid analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated history of working in an ethical and fiscally responsible manner
  • Proficiency with business technology and a variety of software packages
  • Experience with new building construction, as well as facility remodeling preferred
