Duties

  • Proven record of dynamic educational leadership
  • Possess a strong vision and mission focused on growth for all students in alignment with the vision and mission of the district
  • Strong background in elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse student, staff, and parent/community populations
  • Excellent data driven decision-making and problem solving skills -to include Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) and its analysis
  • Ability to effectively lead and engage in a community with high expectations for its students and schools
  • Ability to foster and maintain an effective school climate
  • Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of a continuous school improvement model and RtI process and the ability to implement and monitor the school improvement plan
  • Implement systems thinking to establish a clear focus on attaining student achievement goals
  • Serve as an instructional leader in evaluating, guiding, and supporting curricular and instructional programs
  • Promote the District's strategic objectives and provide appropriate professional development for teachers and staff
  • Promote collaborative problem solving and open communication
  • Relate to students with mutual respect while carrying out a positive and effective discipline policy
  • Communicate effectively with the business and residential community and participate in civic activities
  • Understand the needs and requirements of special education and bilingual programming
  • Administer a balanced budget and manage the school facility effectively

Qualifications

Candidates must hold or be eligible for a State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal Endorsement.

Salary/Benefits

The work year for this position is 12 months.  Salary for this position is regionally competitive.  Valley View offers excellent fringe benefits, including life, health and dental insurance.
