Duties

Programs

  • Help to ensure quality and consistent program delivery
  • Assist with supervision and management of staff at each site
  • Help to evaluate, develop and implement program enhancements
  • Develop relationships with school districts’ administration/staff 
  • Assist in developing programs for expansion into new geographies
  • Assist in developing tools to promote family literacy
  • Help to facilitate projects to provide books and promote literacy for students

 

Training

  • Assist with training Site Coordinators and Assistant Site Coordinators
  • Assist with development and delivery of tutor training
  • Assist with ongoing training for new tutors throughout the year
  • Assist with providing training to new support staff

 

Student data, metrics, and analysis

  • Help to analyze student data to demonstrate program effectiveness
  • Assist with development and providing outcome metrics for grants

        Staffing

  • Help to create and maintain a healthy climate and culture
  • Assist with identifying current and future needs of the organization 
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and managing program staff
  • Supervise Assistant Site Coordinators- manage, observe, evaluate
  • Assist in recruiting tutors to meet program needs

 

Administration

  • Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Model effective leadership
  • Promote understanding of the Organization’s goals, missions, and programs and serve as an ambassador and advocate.
  • Serve as an educational resource at the request of the Board of Directors and CEO on committees and task forces
  • Serve as an educational resource for grant writing
  • Adhere to Reading Power policies and procedures
  • Ensure students in publicity pictures have photo releases

Communications and Publicity

  • Assist with providing regular communications to staff
  • Contribute content for newsletter, website, social media, Annual Report
  • Speak to civic groups, attend community events for the purposes of tutor recruitment, fundraising, and promoting public relations 
  • Promote awareness of Reading Power through local media

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education with emphasis on literacy methods
  • Previous experience in Reading Recovery™ is helpful
  • Strong organizational, managerial, and communications skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • References available upon request

Salary/Benefits

  • Salary Range- $50,000-$60,000
