Duties
1. Responsible for the development and updates of the age and obsolescence plan for
all of the district’s capital assets (annually).
2. Define the annual purchasing, insurance, and distribution center goals and outcomes.
3. Determine purchasing methods and obtain competitive prices by quotation or bidding.
4. Consolidate the district’s purchasing activities to maximize economies of scale.
5. Receive vendor representatives, act as a vendor resource, coordinate vendor
relations, and select vendors and sources for all goods and services based upon
quality, price, standardization, timelines, and needs.
6. Coordinate all sales and disposal of district owned equipment.
7. Responsible for all distribution center functions, including receipts, inventory,
authorizationof payments, and delivery of supplies and equipment.
8. Coordinate the liability, property, and student insurance portion of the
district’s risk management program.
9. Develop the annual budget for the purchasing department and the distribution center.
10. Approve requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment for the district.
11. Supervise the distribution center staff with their functions, including inventory,
movement of supplies and equipment within the district, and the sale of surplus
items.
12. Review and evaluate new equipment available for purchase.
13. Work closely with buildings and departments to provide exceptional customer service.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. A minimum of five years of experience in business management and/or purchasing.
2. Three years of experience in a supervisory capacity (required).
3. Excellent computer data skills (sorting and analyzing).
4. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with vendors, staff, and colleagues.
