Duties

• Proven record of dynamic educational leadership
• Possess a strong vision and mission focused on growth for all students in alignment with the vision and mission of the district
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff and parents
• Strong background in middle school curriculum and instruction
• A sound working knowledge of the school improvement and quality review process
• Successful administrative and teaching experience
• Ability to be part of an effective management team
• Ability to foster and maintain an effective school climate
• Ability to work well in a community with high expectations for its students and schools
• Understands the underlying philosophy for a middle school that matches the intellectual social, emotional, and physical needs of young adolescents
• Is knowledgeable about RtI and how to improve core instruction while building a system of interventions
• Promote the District’s strategic objectives and provide appropriate professional development for teachers and staff
• Administer a balanced budget and manage the school facility effectively

Qualifications

Candidates must hold or be eligible for a State of Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administrative or Principal Endorsement.  Advanced training in instructional and managerial leadership, administration. Understands the underlying philosophy for a middle school that matches the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of young adolescents. 

Salary/Benefits

The work year for this position is 12 months.  Salary for this position is regionally competitive.  Valley View offers excellent fringe benefits, including life, health, and dental insurance.
