Duties
Legacy Academy of Excellence Charter School, an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP) World School is looking for high energy, hard-working, child centered, and flexible online educators for students in grades K-5 and 6-8 (English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science) for the 2022/2023 school year. Legacy Academy is located in a beautiful, scenic area in Rockford, Illinois across from a lovely park and we have a very welcoming and supportive staff. We are expanding and looking for staff members who can grow with us. The salary range will be $40-75,000 based on experience.
Online teachers are expected to instruct students in specific subject areas, prepare lesson plans and coordinate schedules while monitoring students’ skills and achievement.
The duties of an online educator include:
- Creating a curriculum based on the best knowledge in the field
- Teaching the material with online video lessons
- Leading online discussions of the course material via forums and web chat
- Responding to student comments and questions posted online
- Evaluating student papers, projects, tests and other assessments
- Maintaining records on student progress/grades

Qualifications
Professional Educator License (PEL) in the State of Illinois
