Duties
Job Summary: Applicants must be willing to:
- Provide instruction and resource support in core academics and study skills for students with IEPs.
- Effectively manage the classroom in accordance with school and district policy.
- Plan and individualize lessons, differentiate instruction, and deliver services to students with a variety of needs.
- Manage a caseload and write IEPs according to state and Highland CUSD5 guidelines using on-line software.
- Conduct IEP meetings, including annual reviews, IEP reviews, etc.
- Complete quarterly progress reports on IEP goals.
- Work collaboratively with general education and SpEd classroom teachers to deliver services and meet students' needs.
- Collect, organize, and use data to drive decision-making for academics and behavior.
- Work with related service personnel. Supervise and direct program assistants and individual care aides.
- Engage in Professional Development opportunities and continue to support school improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Communicate high expectations for teaching and learning.
- Cooperate with teachers and related service personnel to support a collaborative school culture.
- Participate in extracurricular/coaching opportunities as available, i.e., Cross Country, Track and Field, Tennis, and Baseball.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must hold an LBS I Professional Educator License
