Duties

  • Develop, plan and implement a daily curriculum which is developmentally appropriate and provides social, emotional, physical and cognitive learning experience for all students
  • Maintain accurate records to include lesson plans, daily schedules, anecdotal records, parent contacts, assessments,  and attendance records 
  • Monitor teacher assistant
  • Follow proper safety guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students  at all times.  Maintain a safe, attractive, and an organized classroom environment
  •  Use trauma informed techniques when communicating with students.  Must be capable of maintaining a positive attitude, displaying a caring concern towards children, parents and coworkers.
  •  Provide evaluative feedback to Program Director
  • Complete the Success Plan with each student when entering the program.
  • Maintain accurate files and records for each student, including success plan, records from previous schools, IEPs if needed, Locator cards, etc.
  • Maintain contact with parents/guardians.  Inform families of events, changes, successes and concerns. 
  • Monitor student attendance and contact parents as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education,

Teaching Certificate
