Duties
Morrison CUSD #6 is seeking a positive and enthusiastic individual for a Special Education teacher position for the 2023-24 school year.
Successful candidates should be able to perform the following essential functions of (but not limited to) the job:
- Provide research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP.
- Assess student progress and determine the need for additional reinforcement or adjustment to instructional techniques.
- Employee a varied of teaching techniques, methods, principals of learning to enable student to meet their IEP goals.
- Develop and implement annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students.
- Establish and maintain student control and discipline in the classroom, school premises and/or during school activities.
- Provide consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptions, instructional modifications, behavior modification plans and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
Candidates should be willing to contribute to the collaborative practice of the MHS,MJHS,SS, & NS team, including data analysis, development of interventions, and development of assessments. Additions to our team in Morrison should be prepared to use instruction, technology, and collaboration to insure the District continues to work toward its vision to lead, innovate, and excel.
A minimum B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate special education area as well as a current Illinois teaching license are required.
