Duties

  • Plan and implement a program that meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students as outlined in the IEP.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals while connecting the IEP goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects. 
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. 
  • Provide routine assessment of student growth.  
  • Provide consultation to school personnel.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, district policy, and administration regulation.
  • Plan and direct purposeful assignments for program paraprofessional(s) cooperatively with the Director, and may provide input on job performance.  
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents regarding academics and behavioral progress of the assigned students.
  • Submit student attendance reports to the Cooperative Office.
  • Strive to implement by instruction and action, the Cooperative’s Mission Statement/Philosophical Tenets.
  • Develop his/her own professional growth through reading, workshops, inservices, conferences and/or advanced coursework.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
  • Maintain high levels of communication with all team members, informing service providers of changes, absences and meetings. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or Program Supervisor.

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License, LBS1 certification

Salary/Benefits

Based on salary schedule

$6,000.00 annual stipend bonus

Additional Notes

This will be a full-time salary position (1.0 FTE).  Must have the physical ability to provide Crisis Intervention Prevention strategies if needed.
