Duties
Description: Full-time Special Education teacher for Highland Elementary School 3-5 Transition Special Education Program.
Job Summary: Applicants must be willing to:

Learn, implement, and facilitate a structured skills delivery system for students' learning and behavior (ABA and PEAK)

Individualize lessons, plan lessons, and deliver instruction to students with a variety of academic and behavioral needs.

Work collaboratively with the district Behavior Consultant, Director of Special Services, Administration, and other Transition SpEd teachers, to design and implement a classroom instructional program.

Collect, organize, and use data to drive decision-making for academics.

Upload data on a regular basis to behavior consultant

Receive training and be prepared to use CPI restraint when necessary.

Attend SpEd Department meetings and other training that relate to improvement of IEPs, decision-making, skills instruction, and delivery.

Manage, supervise, and work collaboratively with paraprofessionals (program assistants and individual care aides).

Learn and use on-line IEP program software and other technology, including Excel.

Write IEPs according to state and district guidelines.

Hold IEP meetings, including Annual Reviews and IEP Reviews,

Work collaboratively with administration and related service staff in order to promote a positive school environment.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must meet requirements for reimbursement as an LBS I Endorsed Teacher.
