Duties
Provide therapy for students with complex communication needs in K-12+ low incidence programs.
Knowledge and skill in using a variety of AAC options including paper-based communication, ASL, and dynamic speech generating devices/apps.
Ability to work with, train, and consult a team of providers including teachers, paraprofessionals, OT, PT, TVI, DHH.
Ability to follow a BIP and provide behavior interventions during therapy sessions and during class lessons.
Ability to write legally defensible IEP’s, maintain service records for billing and plan/coordinate a schedule across multiple worksites
Qualifications
Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.
Current SLP Licensure or Temporary license through IDFPR.
ASHA Certification CCC-SLP preferred.
