Stephen Decatur is a middle school with 7th and 8th grade students that believe in enhancing a child's school experience. To do this we've adopted a three-academy approach to learning. We offer our students a unique learning experience that allows them to choose from a STEAM Academy, Public Service Academy, and Agricultural Academy. Once they've made their choice, their two-year journey starts, giving them unique opportunities to work on projects specifically focused on their academy preference. We have PBL (project-based learning) classrooms that allow students to emerge their selves in technology and become experts in their chosen area of study. These rooms have different workstations specifically designed for students to take them over with their devices and forge forward by researching, presenting, creating, building, and along the way succeeding and failing, making their learning experience practical for the world we live in today.
