Technology Maintenance Specialist - River Trails School District 26
Title: Technology Maintenance Specialist
Job Goal: To provide level 1 technology support for the school district.
Qualifications:

2 years of college/technical school/training or 3 to 5 years of related job experience.

Knowledge and hands-on experience in computers and appropriate software operations.

Ability to perform routine maintenance of equipment, including installing and repairing network cables.

Preferred experience with Google Workspace for Education applications and 1:1 software/hardware.

Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic technology environment.

Skills in self-direction, initiative, follow-through, attention to detail, and resource organization.

Strong interpersonal skills and patience in working with students and faculty.

Supervisory Responsibilities: none
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Uses Incident IQ ticketing system for technology help desk support, including regularly checking for new support tickets, updating existing support tickets, and closing completed support tickets.

Uses and maintains Incident IQ asset management system for inventorying and managing all assets in the district/schools, including submitting warranty information.

Repairs, images, and sets-up Windows devices and software.

Installs driver updates, software updates, and patches.

Assembles, installs, cables, repairs, cleans, and maintains district AV equipment, including, but not limited, to projectors, interactive whiteboards, televisions, speakers, amplifiers, web cameras, document cameras, and phones.

Installs, repairs, maintains, and removes low voltage cabling as directed, according to code and district standards.

Installs electrical services, where needed, for AV technology equipment.

Sets up, monitors/runs, and takes down AV equipment for district and school events, as directed.

Instructs staff on the proper usage of AV equipment.

Maintains safe operating conditions of electrical systems and equipment, according to code and district standards.

Installs, removes, maintains, or moves hardware and software.

Diagnoses and repairs minor hardware issues.

Diagnoses and repairs minor software issues.

Cleans hardware.

Assists staff with questions regarding usage of hardware, devices, software, online services, etc.

Changes backup tapes, as directed.

Attends building/district technology meetings and special evening school events that involve use of technology, or as directed by the Director of Innovation and Technology, the Superintendent, or Superintendent’s designee

Provides additional technology maintenance support, as directed.
