Duties
Position:
The Interventionist will provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 targeted instruction. The Interventionist will create instructional plans to ensure identified students reach grade-level mastery of Illinois Learning Standards.
Job Goal:
To help students develop proficient math skills that will contribute to their academic growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all policies and procedures of Community Unit School District 300 along with state and federal regulations pertaining to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and IDEA.
- Provide data-driven direct instruction to students identified for intervention supports.
- Diagnose skill-based strengths and weaknesses and match the skills with appropriate techniques and materials.
- Ensure consistent implementation of language strategies to develop oracy and vocabulary skills.
- Use a variety of assessments to measure student learning and drive instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers and instructional coaches to identify the academic needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem-solve with teachers to develop best practices for the continuous academic growth of students.
- Provide a small group environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Promote, monitor, and maintain the integrity of interventions and data.
- Actively participate in a professional learning community.
- Attend district-level meetings.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
- Attend team/parent meetings as required in order to provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and weaknesses.
- Effectively communicate student progress to parents on a consistent basis.
- Participate in universal screening activities and assist with the analysis of the data to identify students in need of MTSS services.
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities, as may be assigned by the supervisor and Director of Math.
