Duties
Centralia City Schools #135 is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a fifth grade teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year at Central Middle School.
The successful candidate will implement the District 135 curriculum using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans and instructional materials; providing individualized and small-group instruction to meet the diverse needs of students; and establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior necessary to create a positive and productive learning environment.
The candidate will evaluate students’ academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and the school program. The position also requires identifying student needs and collaborating with other professional staff members to support student success.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining professional competence through district-provided in-service activities and/or self-selected professional growth opportunities; supervising students during out-of-classroom activities throughout the assigned workday; administering group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program; participating in curriculum development initiatives; serving on faculty committees and sponsoring student activities as assigned; promoting positive public relations for the district and school community; and cooperating with program coordinators and other district personnel.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor's degree and appropriate state certification (or proof of the ability to obtain).
Salary/Benefits
Starting pay for the position is a minimum of $47,211. In addition, the Board of Education provides paid TRS benefits and paid individual health insurance.
