Duties

Northern Kane Educational Corp (NKEC) is a 501c3 organization which manages Cambridge Lakes
Charter School (CLCS). CLCS is a “public school of choice” authorized by Community Unit School
District #300. The school began in the fall of 2007. Located on a 15-acre campus, within the
growing town of Pingree Grove, IL, CLCS is one building with a gymnasium completed in February
2021. CLCS is a K–8 school with a Blended Learning Academy for students in grades 9-12. Present
student enrollment is 600. The current CEO is retiring. This is a unique opportunity for a leader to
make a significant and lasting contribution to the future of students.

Qualifications

 Master’s Degree in School Administration or related field
 Executive leadership experience
 Effective written and oral communication skills
 Demonstrates strong human relation skills with professionalism and approachability
 Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Illinois Superintendent licensure preferred
 but not required

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works directly with the Board of Directors to execute the NKEC Strategic Plan as it relates to
short-term and long-range goals

Evaluates existing programs and makes recommended changes to the NKEC Board
Serves as an ex officio member of the NKEC Board
Provides oversight and direction to the leadership team on matters related to academic
programming, compliance, facilities, finance, humans resources, and policy

Develops a thorough understanding of the Charter Agreement and provides leadership to
align practices to the requirements in the agreement
Establish a strong working relationship with the charter authorizer-Community Unit School
District #300
Become familiar with Illinois Charter Law as it relates to the daily operations of Cambridge
Lakes Charter School

Supervises the implementation of regulations outlined in Illinois School Code.
 Represents the organization before the public through cooperation with stakeholders within
the community
Engages in marketing efforts to grow and sustain enrollment
Performs additional duties to benefit the mission and vision of the organization
