Duties

Job Goals: To provide each school student with quality, nutritious food in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring.

Performance Responsibilities:                                              

  • Maintain proper food service certification
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal school lunch program guidelines
  • Maintain compliance with all local Winnebago County Health Department recommendations and regulations
  • Prepare and produce quality, nutritious daily breakfast and lunch for students
  • Maintain safe, clean, and sanitary school kitchen and cafeteria
  • Create monthly menus for the school year
  • Format recipes according to state and federal guidelines
  • Prepare orders of food, bread, milk, and other products from approved vendor
  • Maintain documentation of all needed and consumed items. 
  • Ensure compliance with point of service
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork and records for state auditing purposes
  • Follow all professional development requirements for self
  • Be positive and supportive of school mission and philosophy
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality of information
  • Performs other reasonable, job-related tasks assigned by the administrators    

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Five years’ experience as a cook or experience managing a restaurant/kitchen
  3. Hold or obtain appropriate Food Safety Manager Certification

Salary/Benefits

Hourly based on experience
