Duties

Cover any as needed school bus routes and extra trips. (field trips, sporting events)

Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

1.  Drive assigned route with regularity and promptness.

2.  Become familiar with bus rules/expectations for student behavior while transporting. 

3.  Monitor student behavior and redirect students as necessary. 

4.  Regularly inspect bus for mechanical/miscellaneous problems such as loose seats, broken windows, etc. and report incidents to the Transportation Director. 

5.  Maintain discipline at all times and refer problems to building principal by using a Bus Conduct form. 

6.  Other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Director and/or Superintendent. 

Qualifications

1.  Illinois CDL license with school bus permit.  We will help train to receive this licensing!

2.  Annual physical and drug test signed by a physician.

3.  High School diploma or equivalent.

4.  Ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision.

5.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
