  1. Actively supporting the mission of the school and district, "Students First, Always."
  2. Create and maintain a safe classroom atmosphere that builds relationships with students while providing structure and routines conducive to learning.
  3. Provide opportunities for all students to experience success, based upon their individual ability and potential.
  4. Plan and implement lessons in accordance with the Illinois Standards for Language Arts.
  5. Assess, monitor, and report out on student progress through standards-referenced instruction and grading.
  6. Actively collaborate with the ELA content area team and the Special Education Department to design curriculum and assessments appropriate for students of all ability levels.
  7. Facilitate Response to Intervention Tier 2 and 3 instruction.
  8. Participate in school improvement initiatives. 
  9. Participate in the problem solving team process of MTSS, and implement SEL curriculum and Tier 1 and 2 Social/Emotional supports.
  10. Inform parents and students of academic and behavioral progress, concerns, and long-range expectations.
  11. Analyze student academic Language Arts data to improve individual student and school-wide performance.



Qualified applicants would possess a passion for teaching English and/or Literature to middle school students grades 6th-8th. In addition, candidates must possess a valid Illinois Teaching Certificate with a Language Arts Endorsement.
