Reports to Building Principal.

  1. Adheres to the Board of Education policies and procedures.
  2. Strives to implement by the performance of job responsibilities the district philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  3. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the time designated.
  4. Makes adequate preparation for daily instruction.
  5. Coordinates and/or assists with identification of targeted students and and/or classrooms.
  6. Provides special education services to targeted students.
  7. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  8. Participates in the development and implementation of individual service plans as appropriate.
  9. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct student records as required by law, district policy, or building procedures.
  10. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and is responsible for the maintenance of student discipline in the classroom in accordance with school board policy.
  11. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  12. Reports suspected child abuse/neglect cases as required by statute and district policy.
  13. Collaborates and communicates with parents.
  14. Collaborates and communicates with building staff members.
  15. Supervises paraprofessionals as appropriate.
  16. Participates in appropriate professional development.
  17. Meets accepted standards of the Professional Code of Ethics.

Performs other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the prinicpal or designee that the employee is qualified to perform.


Must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License with a Bilingual/Spanish Endorsement


$26.69 / hour

24 hours / week
