Duties
Instructional responsibilities include the teaching of Middle School Math (based on the Illinois Learning Standards). Additional responsibilities/expectations include: • Supporting the D71 Vision for Math Education • Participation in department and grade level collaborative teams • Collaboration with other classroom teachers, Student Services Team and support staff • Responsibilities also include the supervision and management of the classes, while effectively teaching the curriculum to meet the individual needs of students, evaluating individual progress, and communicating progress with students and parents.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a proper middle school and math endorsements.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability and interest in coaching and moderating extracurricular activities strongly preferred.
- Additional subject area or special education endorsement preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, learn and interpret rules and regulations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to establish rapport with students, parents and staff
- Knowledge of best teaching practices and pedagogy
- Ability to interpret and implement IEPs
