Duties
The speech language pathologist is responsible for screening, assessing, and identifying students with communication disorders that adversely affect their educational progress. The speech language pathologist develops and provides direct and indirect services within the student’s educational setting according to the goals and objectives of the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The speech language pathologist collaborates with other classroom teachers and related service providers in the development and implementation of best practices, thus ensuring that the student’s needs are met in all school settings. The speech language pathologist is a member of the student assistance team. Knowledge of Executive Function, Social Problem Solving, and Assistive Technology desired.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate must hold a valid registered Illinois Professional Educators License with Speech Language Pathologist endorsement (Non-Teaching OR Teaching) as required by the Illinois State Board of Education
