Duties

  1. Assesses student needs and recommends and monitors student support program assuring equitable opportunity for     success for all students.
  2. Assesses staff development needs and develops and implements activities when appropriate.
  3. Develops and manages financial resources through a collaborative budget process.
  4. Participates in the selection of building personnel by interviewing candidates and making recommendations to the Principal.
  5. Assists in recruitment, selection, and recommendation for hiring or removal of academic teaching and support personnel.
  6. Evaluates and provides remediation for unsatisfactory staff performance and makes recommendation for retention or dismissal of personnel as required.
  7. Facilitate request for temporary or extended leaves for certified and classified staff
  8. Prepares divisional master schedule.
  9. Maintains and enhances professional skills through appropriate professional development related to his/her areas of responsibility.
  10. Assists the Principal with data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  11. Evaluates achievement and placement of students in assigned departments; including monitoring formative and summative assessment.
  12. Coordinates departmental curriculum and assessment revision, rewriting and course descriptions.
  13. Facilitate and oversee PLCs, Period 2 Interventions/Enrichments, and other district/building initiatives.
  14. Conducts in-service workshops, training and staff development programs for assigned staff.
  15. Participate in District/Building Committees
  16. Demonstrates facilitative leadership skills in monitoring curriculum, instruction, and assessment of student learning, ensuring that student assessment results are linked to curriculum.
  17. Promotes and models positive interpersonal relationships and ensure aligned rewards and recognition for staff and student achievements.
  18. Conducts evaluations for all certified and classified staff within the division.
  19. Plans, conducts, and reports departmental staff meetings according to policy and contractual guidelines.
  20. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Principal or Principal

Qualifications

  • Professional Educators License and Type 75 license or appropriate administrator license
  • Completed and Passed Certified Staff Mandated Training

Salary/Benefits

Salary will commensurate with educational background according to the Teacher's Contract.
