Duties

  1. Encourage and initiate continued improvement in curriculum and teaching methods in cooperation with District Administration, subject area specialists, and faculty.
  2. Select, orient, assign, supervise and evaluate staff to attain the objectives of the educational program.
  3. Maintain a standard of student behavior designed to ensure respect in the continued development of a positive learning environment.
  4. Maintain effective communication to keep the staff, students, and parents properly informed.
  5. Plan and conduct staff meetings, attend and host night activities with parents, students and staff.
  6. Develop and maintain a school-wide vision and culture of success for all students that includes high standards for learning, development, and social emotional goals.
  7. Create and maintain a positive, collaborative school culture and climate where students and staff can learn and grow.
  8. Provide effective and ongoing leadership to maintain a talented, effective, professional staff who value working collaboratively and professionally to positively impact the academic and social emotional development of students.
  9. Coordinate the assessment of students and the analysis of academic and behavioral data and the use of data to develop, refine and enhance instruction, intervention, and enrichment that meets the individual student needs.
  10. Foster a positive, professional and informative relationship with parents, students, community, and staff.
  11. Develop and maintain an annual school budget, and responsibly administer the budget throughout the school year.
  12. Knowledge of Dual Language Programs is required.
  13. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • General Administrative Endorsement required
  • 5+ years of teaching experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to speak Spanish is required
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community
  • Illinois licensed teacher evaluator
  • Previous experience as a building administrator preferred
  • Strong leadership skills

JOB OVERVIEW:

Acts as the Instructional Leader of the school.  Provides leadership for the professional staff in the building in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program, and to administer the program in accordance with school board policies and administrative rules and regulations.
