Duties
Duties: Aviston Elementary School District #21 is seeking motivated applicants who demonstrate strong teaching skills, exceptional organization, appropriate classroom management, and a team mentality. This is a new teaching position created to further support students with Individualized Education Programs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, maintain and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for all students on the educational caseload.
- Develop engaging daily lesson plans based on district curriculum, core/state standards and IEP goals.
- Assess and monitor student progress and intervene appropriately using research-based interventions.
- Maintain accurate and regular grade records and report student progress to parents, regular education teachers and administration as required.
- Provide quality instruction that includes differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill level and developmental needs of the students to ensure progress toward student IEP goals.
- Coordinate with other teachers and administration to provide educational opportunities and communications that benefit student learning, including presentation of data, reviewing IEP accommodations/strategies with regular education teachers and recommendations during various IEP Team meetings.
- Utilize relevant technology to support and enhance instruction.
- Maintain consistent contact with parents/caregivers regarding classroom activities, student progress and needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educators License with LBS1 endorsement
