Duties
The Speech and Language Pathologist provides evaluations and therapeutic intervention for students exhibiting speech and/or language delays. Collaborates with parents and public school personnel regarding: incoming, progress of and/or returning students. The ideal staff member not only understands the particular challenges experienced by students, but has a particular affinity for working with Autistic youth.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (preferred/available); Certified Speech and Language Therapist with Illinois State Board of Education or Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist. Experience with children with Autism, children exposed to trauma and skill in signing are highly desirable.

Additional Notes
The Speech/Language Pathologist is expected to attend IEP meetings as needed and to present goals and updates as requested for students. The Speech/Language Pathologist position is part of the IEP team for students requiring Speech and/or Language services. Therefore, the ability to collaborate and communicate is vital.
