Relative to teacher responsibilities in district job description including, but not limited to the following:

  • Plan a program of study which meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students;
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning;
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of clear objectives;
  • Employ instructional methods/materials that are appropriate for meeting the objectives;
  • Assess students on a regular basis;
  • Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.


Appropriate degree including licensure in physical education.


Salary based on beginning of present schedule: $50,549 (Bachelor degree with no experience, including TRS). Previous years of TRS service are recognized on the salary schedule. Benefits include paid TRS, single paid health insurance, life insurance, sick leave days, and personal leave days. In addition, a tuition reimbursement program is available for work on an advanced degree or additional endorsements. A two-year mentoring program is provided to new teachers as well.
