Duties
POSITION GOAL: To provide parents/grandparents/guardians with important information to help prepare their children for kindergarten entrance
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Present 10 one hour workshops at two schools to teach early childhood learning readiness skills to parents/grandparents/guardians
- Provide resources and connect families to community resources and events
OTHER INFORMATION
Teacher’s aide will work with students during workshop time
One hour of instruction plus thirty minutes of prep per workshop (Workshop is presented at one building and then the second building the following week)
Workshop is held on Wednesdays after school dismissal
Harrison and Roosevelt are sites
KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS:
- Demonstrate strong relationships with adults
- Demonstrate a critical and creative thinking, collaboration, flexibility, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of developmental needs and skills of students prior to kindergarten.
- Ability to present to adults
EXPERIENCE:
Prior successful work with children, families and community partners
Demonstrated successful teacher
Must have a current early childhood license or have been a Pre-K teacher
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS -
* MUST HAVE VALID ILLINOIS TEACHING CERTIFICATE
* REGISTERED IN PEORIA COUNTY
* MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL, TB TEST, AND DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING
* MUST PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
