Duties

POSITION GOAL:   The individual will be working with individual students or a small group daily. This person is intended to give individual intervention with students struggling with the social, emotional, and academic challenges in school. The SEL/Academic tutor will provide individualized lessons for students based upon data and their needs.

KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Preferred teaching experience
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work and communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
  • Language Ability: Requires the ability to read a variety of resources. Requires the ability to speak to people with poise, voice control and
  • Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations.
  • Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk and hear: (Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words. Hearing: perceiving nature of sounds by ear.)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS -

* MUST HAVE VALID ILLINOIS TEACHING CERTIFICATE REGISTERED IN PEORIA COUNTY
* MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL, TB TEST, AND DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING
* MUST PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK

SALARY -

* BASED ON EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, PER THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
