Identifies students in need of instructional support. Uses research-based assessment tools to determine the instructional reading needs of identified students. Participates in Student Support Team meetings. Provides some ongoing direct small group instruction for identified students in need of reading support. Provides in-class “push in” support for identified students and will collaborate with the classroom teacher.  Uses scientific research-based reading instruction strategies with students. Conducts ongoing progress monitoring to assess growth for students who receive reading support. Maintains records of student progress. Reports progress to parents and teachers on a regular basis. Stays current with developments in reading education. Acts as a literacy resource person for the school community.


  1. Valid Professional Educator License w/Reading Specialist Endorsement
  2. Successful teaching experience is preferred
  3. A Master’s Degree is preferred
