Duties

  1. Provide written lesson plans in accordance with the objectives of the instructional program
  2. Establish high expectations for learning for all students and make ensure that students are aware of these expectations
  3. Provide specialized instruction and collects data on student growth as well as recommend a course of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning
  4. Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction to support achievement
  5. Apply effective practices in the delivery of curriculum and instruction
  6. Use differentiated instruction that is aligned with student need
  7. Comply with all district/school policies, practices and procedures.
  8. Attend training/professional development and implement information and materials provided
  9. Use available technology to enhance instruction and achievement
  10. Demonstrate competency in all subject areas taught
  11. Provide evidence of student performance and progress
  12. Establish and maintain rules and conduct and discipline that are consistent with District Policy and Procedures and that result in an environment conducive to learning
  13. Adhere to policies and procedures regarding Special Education referrals, staffing, and conferences
  14. Practice fairness in teacher-pupil relationships and exhibit an understanding and respect for students as individuals
  15. Be punctual and regular in attendance to school and duty assignments
  16. Exhibit a cooperative attitude and professionalism toward students, parents, community, and school personnel
  17. Make appropriate use of professional preparation periods
  18. Present an appearance that does not adversely affect the student's ability to learn
  19. Communicate the academic progress, attendance, and conduct of students to their parents/guardians
    Teaching assignment includes teaching mathematics for middle and high school students.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  2. Illinois Professional Educator License with High School Math endorsement
  3. Experience with children of the age to be taught
  4. Technology skills necessary to deliver instruction
  5. Must be certified to teach middle school/high school mathematics
    Teaching assignment includes: teaching mathematics for middle and high school students
    District application required. Include letter of interest in position, current college transcripts
    (undergraduate and graduate), current resume, copy of teaching certificate, and a minimum of
    three (3) letters of reference (at least 2 professional, 1 personal).

Salary/Benefits

salary range: $46,335.67 (B.A., 1 st year) to $52,658.13 (M.A. + 16 semester hours, 3 rd
year)
? fringe benefits include paid individual health insurance, 13 sick days, 2 personal days
? valid Illinois secondary teaching certificate required for middle school and high
school mathematics
? must provide current physical examination (complete with TB test) when hired
? must sign form for district to conduct a criminal background check
