Duties
A teaching assistant works closely with the classroom teacher to ensure academic and behavioral functioning of all students. A teaching assistant also works with the teacher in using data to determine learning priorities, monitor progress, and assess instruction and student achievement. Strong interpersonal skills; sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in students, staff, and families served; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work within an IEP team.
Qualifications
Paraprofessional Certificate or eligibility to obtain certificate is required at the time of application. Paraprofessional Certificates must be obtained by the employee start date. Classroom experience strongly preferred.
