Duties
Smithton CCSD #130 is a K-8 school district with an enrollment of 566 seeking a highly qualified and fully certified Superintendent. The Superintendent shall be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District. The Superintendent is responsible for the effective operation of the District; general administration of all instructional, business or other operations of the District; and for advising and making recommendations to the Board of Education with respect to such activities. The Superintendent shall perform all the duties and accept all of the responsibilities usually required of a Superintendent as prescribed by the Education Laws of Illinois, the laws and regulations of the United States, and the policies, rules and regulations of the Illinois Board of Education.
The successful candidate will forge a strong partnership with the Board and demonstrate the ability to bring stakeholders together to ensure the District mission, vision and goals are met. Strong interpersonal skills. Visible in the community. Strong communicator. Knowledgeable in Illinois School Code. Strong financial skills including ability to calculate levy and develop budget. Strong supporter of technology who endorses effective integration of technology to support 21st Century learning including one-to-one initiatives.
Qualifications
Must have Illinois Superintendent Certificate
Salary/Benefits
Compensation package will be regionally competitive. The compensation package will be determined by experience, qualifications, and record of success. It is expected that the initial contract will be for a multi-year period, as authorized by Illinois statutes.
