Qualifications: Morton Community Unit School District 709, a unit district with 3000 learners which includes the communities of Morton and Groveland, is seeking a highly qualified individual for Morton High School Principal. District 709 has listed the following qualifications for candidates. Candidates must: • Possess an Illinois educator license with a general administrative endorsement. • Have completed a minimum of three years professional of administrative experience, including the evaluation of professional faculty. • Have demonstrated successful experience as a classroom teacher, secondary teaching experience is preferred. • Possess the ability to work cooperatively with the Superintendent, Leadership Team, and Board of Education. • Be a team player with successful problem solving skills. • Be able to clearly and effectively communicate with a variety of constituents in multiple forms. • Possess the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers and Leadership Team members. • Be visible and active in the community. • Have experience working with special needs students. • Possess strong interpersonal skills. • Possess expertise in curriculum, instruction and assessment. • Be an accomplished planner with strong organizational skills. • Have knowledge of legal issues surrounding public education. • Be fair, honest, ethical, and have a good sense of humor. • Recognize the role of technology in promoting student learning and professional growth. • Have experience using technology and information systems to enrich and transform curriculum, instruction and assessment. • Provide a list of administrative achievements/accomplishments.
