Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is currently seeking exemplary candidates for the position of Assistant Principal for Student Services at Oswego High School.
General Description:
The Assistant Principal for Student Services is responsible for assisting the Principal in providing school-wide leadership and performing administrative and supervisory duties as assigned by the Principal. In addition, responsibilities include coordinating all student services in compliance with federal and state regulations, Board of Education/district/building policies and procedures, and for assisting all students to achieve social, academic and personal success.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assists Principal in the overall administration and leadership of the school.
- Co-facilitates the Student Supports Teams with the Assistant Principal of Building & Operations.
- Oversees Student Services Team:
- Director of Student Services
- Counselors
- Social Workers
- Psychologists
- 504 Coordinators
- College and Career Center
- Serves as Testing Coordinator for assessments:
- PSAT/SAT/DLM-AA – State Testing
- SAT – National Testing
- PSAT-NMSQT – National Testing
- ACCESS
- Illinois Science Assessment (ISA)
- Advanced Placement (AP)
- ACCUPLACER
- AAPPL
- Other Local/State/National assessments, as applicable
- Provides Oversight of the Master Schedule Process:
- FTE/Staffing Plan
- Teacher supervisions
- English Learner scheduling
- Oversees Coordination of Programs:
- Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
- MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support)
- College and Career Center
- Coordinates and supervises Summer School in collaboration with other administration
- Oversees the collection of College and Career Readiness Indicator data.
- Leads and implements the student/staff crisis plan and procedures.
- Serves as an active member of the Building Leadership Team.
- Conducts evaluation of teachers and staff members as assigned by the Principal (or designee).
- Participates in the recruitment, screening, hiring, assigning, and training of the building staff.
- Provides supervision for evening & weekend events.
- Assists with campus supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Salary/Benefits
The selected candidate for this full-time 12-Month position will receive a competitive starting salary, fully board-paid TRS & THIS contributions, 80% board-paid medical & dental insurance (with 100% reimbursement for non-emergency out-of-pocket expenses incurred at Rush Medical included as part of our PPO plan), and 25 days of paid vacation per year.
